Monday Gorgeousness in Canvas

Still only time for quick blogs, the school hols rule and just finding a few minutes here and there to update and blog.  But its been fun, we now have one broken wrist in the household.  Poor Ollie, was Army jumping a fence as boys do and bam, landed on his wrist, so no more sport for 6 weeks at least and unfortunately no trip to Rockhampton for the State Nipper Titles, he was so looking forward to.
But these things happen and maybe now he will think twice about army jumping fences... although probably not.

So with all the various trips to the hospital and fracture clinic and so on, my blog has been a little neglected, I managed to add a 3rd coloumn to my blog which was fun to say the least.

Now on to the business of fabric,  just adding a few gorgeous fabrics from the fabulous Surface Art, these are canvas weight and great for upholsterings and soft furnishings, lovely and thick.
available only in 100% cotton canvas

available in the 100% cotton drill & canvas
These stunning designs are just a few that are available in my store.  The leaf & sand colourway being new in this week along with a few others.

So my camera isnt working, im not surprised, as i took it to the beach last week, and like the kind loving mother that i am handed it to my 9 year old, to click away merilly.

Not until i turned and looked that I saw to my horrow, 2 hands covered in SAND........  I looked at him , I looked at my camera and just shook my head.  Well at least he had fun for 5 minutes.
We closed the the lens and packed it away, after shaking all the sand out.

When some new fabric arrived earlier this week, I excitedly got my camera out and YES, it had sand in it.  I  had totally forgotten we had taken it to the beach and the sandy hands incident.

So it is now at Teds being de-sanded so I can use it again.
So again whilst this is happening, i thought Id add some special offers for the Easter holiday, seeing as though i cannot take any new pics of my nice new quilting fabrics  until next week hopefully!!!

I shall have a special each day, with the previous being put back to its original price.  So be quick because they will change quickly.

Heres todays.  happy shopping........

Get inspired and create something gorgeous with our
oilcloth and fabric bundles.

Shabby Old Church Pew

My sad old church pew has found its way to ebay.

Its in need of restoration, and some tender care.

We used to live on the Warwickshire/Northamptonshire border in the UK, which is where this pew was from  originally, a little church in a village where we lived, were making more room and selling off surplus pews.

We paid around $400 for it 6 years ago, it weights a tonne, and suited our little cottage.  It has loads of character.  And in the right house or setting would look fab.  A couple of coats of varnish and some pretty cushions would make all the difference!!

It even has a couple of hooks in the back to hang a kneeling cushion, and a shelf to keep your prayer book.

Click here to view on ebay  .

Polka Dots & Cupcakes ~ Party bags

Easter bags, party bags, play bags, little book bags, they can be called anything, but I like to call them party bags, as they are just large enough to hold some yummy lollies, and few goodies.  The bag in itself is a gift.

These are also environmentally friendly, as can be used time and time again, by the little party goer.

Each bag is hand made in a gorgeous polka dot cotton fabric and cupcake grossgrain handles, fully overlocked on the inside and double stitched for strength.

These were a special order for a customer and thought they turned out so well, that id share with you all.

3 Little Party bags

$12.00 for 3($4.00 each) individually.
These will be in store from tomorrow.

Oilcloth - Eden in Midnight Blue

Hi, im back on track now, boys are back at school, the house is reasonably tidy, the dog is happy, the fridge is full, the laundry all done.  I can now work, for the whole day uninterrupted.  I think it will take me until the end of February to catch up with paperwork, sewing, marketing etc.  7 weeks off over christmas is definitely long enough out to work.   So here goes..............

Todays new fabric added to my store is this gorgeous midnight blue mexican oilcloth.  Its a little more chic and looks fantastic on the table.  Made from 91% pvc and 9% polyester/cotton backing it is ideal for outdoors, great for playmats and protecting the floor from food spills.

Its definitely my favourite of the week, and yes its oilcloth, so versatile and so easy to sew into aprons and bags.  Back soon with some more new fabrics.

A very Happy New Year to all my Friends and Followers

Santa, waved goodnight for the last time  at the weekend, until Dec 1st 2010.  We always find it sad taking hime down, its as if he is really alive.  Hes back in his box, recharging ready for another Christmas.

So on with this fabulous new year, wow 2010, should we all be flying around in small spaceships instead of cars, thats what i imagined when i was very young back in the ummmm early 70s, when 2010 was ever mentioned -  films like Logans Run and The Time machine, but here we are all doing basically the same as the last century. Except maybe the ipones and ipod touches, what great gizzmos they are, cant put them down and such time wasters too!!

Anyway on with the fabric issues, i have some fantastic new fabrics in store, Degas and Moulin, drapery, home furnishing, light upholstry weight, absolutely divine, Im having my dressmakers dummy - sally ann, recovered in the pink colourway.  All from Warwick Australia and loving the designs and colourways.  These designs are fromt he Bohemia Collection, very stylish.

Degas is a poppy design on a soft linen coloured background, the largest pooppy measuring 13cm

The Co-ordinating stripe is gorgeous too Moulin, the stripes are nice and wide at 33.5cm

Heres wishing you all a great January, and relaxing time with the Kiddies still off school, Im off to do some sewing today, as the family have gone off surfing for a couple of hours, and I need to sew something, maybe  make some new cushion covers who knows.
