Laminated Loveliness for you.....

If you love the soft feel of the laminated cottons from Amy Butler, you will adore these cushions, ideal for poolside and deckchairs.

A customer asked if I made cushions from the laminated cottons, and well here is the finished item, I made these 3 for me at the same time in the large European size.

Great for when the kids pop out of the pool for a drink and a nibble, nice and cumfy.

See the full range of Amy Buter Laminates in our store.  To make your own, you would need approx 0.75 metre for the large size and 0.50 for the smaller size.

This size is 60cm x 60cms,with a zipped back in the same lovely lamianted fabric.  Our prices are -

60cm x 60cm, including insert ~ $65.00 (postage extra)
60cm x 60cm, cover only ~ $59.99 (postage $1.95)

GreenGate ~ Spring on a Roll

Today was the day, the delivery truck pulled into our driveway and out came my rolls of Green Gate fabric.

Yippee as i ran down the drivway.  I think the driver thought I was totally mad!!
I unwrapped them carefully and just stood looking as you do when new fabric arrives, thinking tomyself should I really sell any more of this, or just keep it all to myself.?

Anway I have decided to keep some for me as it took so long to get here and keep the remainder in my store.

I can now share with you,  it is  simply Spring on roll, beautiful colours, country and comtemporary all rolled into one.

I wish I had ordered more, as it has been selling well, but hey, we live and learn,  always on the side of caution, -  but not anymore.    Im going to make some cushions and things, ooohh! im so excited.

So here we have Paisley on white at the top, Mathilde (largescale)  in the centre and Sophia at the bottom (which is a tiny version of the Mathilde) .

Im off to play with my fabrics now!!

Shabby Chic Roses & Milk Churns

Well I just couldnt resist these.  LOVE by Amy Butler, came out a few months back now, but had so many enquiries for some of her designs, that i bought some in and wow, I d like to keep them all for myself.

A few years back I was living in an old 17th centry cottage on the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire border in the midlands UK, i was the shabby chic queen, every room had roses in, from Cath Kidston & Laura Ashley, roses in the garden too.  I had pretty cafe style curtains at my windows in the old kitchen which was a delight and a 1970s gas fired AGA.  I collected the old fashioned  milk churns in those days and used them as bar stools, with pretty rose seat covers, mind you they were a bit tough on the bum!, nothing that a bit of padding couldnt put right!.

I still have the milk churns today, they travelled with us when we came to Australia, much to my husbands disbeleif. Unfortunately are going to be placed on ebay over the next coming months. We are having some renovations done to our new house, and the surfboards and boogie boards and bikes are taking preference.  Mind you i may well sneekily keep one at the bottom of the garden, just to remind me of those country days.

I have made up a Bundle of Fat Quarters of the 4 designs i have as well,  makes it a bit easier for choosing.

My old milk Churns

Im thinking i may make some covers for the tops before i sell them on.
Im off now to sew some cushions, have a great day sewing and quilting, or just reading.
