Meet Matillda and her new Puppy Placemat

Matillda Tilly MooMoo.
Introducing my gorgeous new little girl Matillda Tilly MooMoo.  Just 14 weeks old and weighing in at about 18kgs now.
Just 14 weeks old  and well behaved, she has now been our pet for 2 weeks, how time flies.

e have started puppy pre school, which is fun to say the least, a little embarrassing when your baby is the  biggest in the class and the sukkiest.  But shes taken a liking to the little well tiny daschhund - sausage dog to the kids amoungst us, called Cupcake.

Oh and if I forgot to mention she is a Great Dane!!  See the bowl in the picture it  is LARGE  The placemat measures 60cms across and 32cms in the narrowest part at the centre.

Puppy Placemat see below for details
Puppy Placemats
Our gorgeous puppy placemats are made from Mexican Oilcloth, both sides are waterproof, so they can be hosed down along with the puppy too. With a pretty heart detail  for the girly puppies. And a bone detail for the boys, a bit more Butch!!.  The design is just on one side.

Availalbe in any colour combo you would like.  These are not in my store as yet,  but if you visit my Mexican Oilcloth Collection, you can choose your colours and just email Susie at susie@ijustlovethatfabric.com.au

A small piece of Fame

Fame at last, one of my gorgeous oilcloth tablecloths has been featured in the  Donna Hay - Kids Magazine edition.

Our Baby Blue Gingham Oilcloth table cloth looks absolutely fab mixed with Baby Pink accessories, I Love it.

Oilcloth tablecloths have become very fashionable over the last few years, with their easy care and wipeclean surfaces.  Todays most popular Oilcloths come in 2 different types, there is the 91% pvc type Mexican Oilcloth which is waterproof on both sides and is great for picnic mats, lunch bags, totes and all sorts, and is less expensive, whereas the Laminated cotton oilcloth is as it says, a gorgeous printed fashionable fabric which has been laminated on the top surface to give a hardwearing, durable and wipecleanable top.

Oilcloths are very easy to keep clean, very easy to sew and easy to turn into a multitude of gorgeous crafts, from tiny coin purses and doorstops to large beach bags and picnic mats.

Pop over to our store I Just Love That Fabric and take a look at our collection of floralsginghams, dots, stripes, tropical and chic oilcloth designs in lots of gorgeous soft and vibrant colours.

Now to look at those mouth watering recipes,  oooooh yummy!!

Bettie Birdie ~ Retro bunting/hanging birds

Its so nice to have my camera back at long last, and take some pics of my renovations and also my new Bettie Birdies.
I wanted to make some bunting,  but didnt want the regular triangles, which i love  and have in my laundry.  I wanted something slightly different.

I had a rummage around in my workroom, because I new hiding somewhere was the bird pattern I had made last year, for some patches on teeshirts.  After some frantic emptying of boxes, I found her.  I had named her Bettie Birdie.  I file in mysterious ways!!!!!

Anyway to cut a long story short, I broke out my oilcloth and made these gorgeous doublesided Birdies.  And they do the trick, just what I wanted.  I have since been asked if I sell these, so here they are, in my Made It Shop.
Pop over if you get a minute, Iam running an offer with these ~ if you buy 4 you can have the 5th totally FREE.

Vintage Pink

Happy decorating.

Something to be said about Gingham

Gingham once again has become so popular, a reminder maybe of Grandmas kitchen pantry shelves covered in sticky back plastic gingham paper, or her pretty cotton apron.

Ive always been a lover of gingham, for tablecloths and teatowels, mixed with dots and stripes.

Birthday parties are a great favourite, and gingham always looks fresh, and can be in any setting, retro, shabby chic or traditional, whatever the mood.

So without having to sew a thing, you can just throw it over the table and hey, a new look.  Cut the edges in a scallop all the way round and you have a gorgeous new tablecloth.

Oilcloth - Eden in Midnight Blue

Hi, im back on track now, boys are back at school, the house is reasonably tidy, the dog is happy, the fridge is full, the laundry all done.  I can now work, for the whole day uninterrupted.  I think it will take me until the end of February to catch up with paperwork, sewing, marketing etc.  7 weeks off over christmas is definitely long enough out to work.   So here goes..............

Todays new fabric added to my store is this gorgeous midnight blue mexican oilcloth.  Its a little more chic and looks fantastic on the table.  Made from 91% pvc and 9% polyester/cotton backing it is ideal for outdoors, great for playmats and protecting the floor from food spills.

Its definitely my favourite of the week, and yes its oilcloth, so versatile and so easy to sew into aprons and bags.  Back soon with some more new fabrics.

Giveaway - Early Christmas Present Time

BLOG GIVEAWAY......BLOG GIVEAWAY.........BLOG GIVEAWAY

Choose an apron and it could be yours, for entry conditions see below.....

Girly Hibiscus Apron, with pretty grossgrain ties

Ships and Lighthouses, make cooking and painting fun

Now heres a great chance to win one of these gorgeous kiddies aprons. (Size for 6yr old)

The pink is Hibiscus Mexican Oilcloth and the apron below is Nautical Oilcloth.  Both beautifully hand made by me.  I had a sewing frenzy last week, as I hadnt sewn for a couple of days.  Its too hazardous getting the sewing machine switched on with my boys around.  Although, having said that, the little fella is quite steady for a left hander, not the easiest when it comes to scissors and things.  But i gave him some striped fabric, so he had lines to follow and he did really well.

Any way back to the GIVEAWAY.  Easy Peasy - heres how to win one -

1.   Leave a comment on which one you would like to win.
2.   Follow my blog, but not compulsory of course.
3.   Have a tweet about the giveaway, for a second entry.

The winner will be randomly drawn on the 1st November.
NOW CLOSED

Both aprons are now listed in my store, I also have the pattern listed in haberdashery.

Thank you for entering, in advance.

Retro scalloped edge Oilcloth tablecloth

Red/white polka dot scalloped edge

I have made today a lovely retro scalloped edge tablecloth.

I originally made this for a birthday party to cover my occasional table, so we wouldnt get too many drinks stains. The table size is about 1m x 1m sqare and this hung over nicely.

Friends all commented on how great this was, and all wanted one too in various colours and sizes. So here it is, a pic of one side. It looks esspecially gorgeous in the pink with the white polka dots, so shabby chic, but i love this retro dot.

I have now added this colourway to my store, and at $35.50 per metre, would make a superb gift or treat. I can make them from 1/2 metres upwards, and in any of the Mexican Oilcloth designs, as they hang beautifully. And great for the non-sewers amongst us. Something ready to use straight away.

Have a gorgeous day, the sun is shining.
