How to make Canvas Wall Art

Easy Instructions on how to make a Canvas Wall Art.
What you will need for the job.

Allow 1 hour for your first.
A blank canvas ~ available at the cheapie shops. 1m square is approx $25.00 Fabric - enough to cover all round, allow an extra 20cm in length and width. Craft Stapler and staples
Scissors

Tape measure

Cord or tape to hang your finished artwork

E.g. 1m square canvas, i would need 1.20m length of fabric by 1.20m wide (most furnishing fabrics are 1.35 or more wider.

1. Remove all creases from the fabric.

2. Lay the fabric face down on a clean surface.

3. Place the blank canvas face down on top of the fabric.

4. Position the design to suit, making sure there is enough fabric for edges and turnover .

5. Start at the top and in the centre and gently staple out towards the edges every 3cms or so, stopping about 5cms from the corners.

6. Repeat for the botton, pulling the fabric taught, up till 5cms from corner.

7. Staple the left side firmly by do not pull tight up till 5cm from corner.

8. Staple the righthand side pulling taught, up till 5cm from corner.

9. Neatly fold and staple each corner, trying not to leave any bulges.

Once you have completed one canvas then the next is even easier.

Marimekko Unikko More Colours now in Store

Marimekko Unikko -If wall art is what you are looking for then these are sure to inspire, created by Maija Isola back in the early 60's. Still as popular if not more so now.

I now have a few more of these stunning colourways in my on-line store.

One metre of this Unikko design will give you approximately 6 poppies over 2 rows, this is enough for a 1 metre square canvas wall art. I have listed a short summary of instructions below for those of us who would like to make a piece of designer art.

New In Store ~ Anna Maria Horner Oilcloth Fortune

It seems like months ago since i decided to stock this fabulous laminated print of Anna Maria Horners'. These subtle colours are just so beautiful, i couldnt resist adding to my store.
The 100% cotton fabric has been laminated to give it a waterproof vinyl surface. Oilcloth pvc with a cotton backing. So supple and soft, so easy to sew. I shall have a tablecloth in this one, its such a happy print.

Also a great advantage, is it is 140cm wide, making 1/4 metre 70cm x 50cm, which is ample to make a beachbag, or a beautiful apron from, without breaking the bank balance.

Also, i couldnt resist this lovely retro ticking stripe of Cath Kidstons, I only have a few metres left now, as it is so popular, this is a much heaving oilcloth pvc, with the backing beeing 100% cotton duck, making it great for totes and aprons, and bunting.
